You don't have to be creative or have any previous experience in art making to enjoy the visual and sensory aspects of art therapy. It is simply another modality that can be used to facilitate the process of engagement in psychological therapy, self-expression and self-awareness. Art therapy particularly lends itself to creative problem solving and viewing situations, thoughts, feelings and behaviours from a more helpful and realistic perspective. This type of therapy can be provided in the art studio or via telehealth consultations using a video link. No special materials are required, just paper and some basic painting or drawing materials of your choice.
